FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Thursday, the Fort Wayne Cinema Center hosted a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross as part of a promotion for a new horror movie.

The film, “Iron Lung,” was Markiplier’s, one of YouTube’s most popular creators, directorial debut.

Screenings of the movie can be seen at the local arts nonprofit, the Cinema Center, where fans of the film participated in the blood drive on Thursday.

Art Herbig, Executive Director of the Cinema Center, said he and his team always look for ways to give back to the community.

“We’re showing a film, ‘Iron Lung,’ and it bills itself as the bloodiest movie in movie history, and I think it’s right. Whenever we do movies like this, where we can find a partnership or a tie-in, we try to do that…” he said. “Honestly, we were hoping for around 20 people to pre-sign up, and we ended up with over 40. It’s been a really great success for us.”
