FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Fort Wayne Cinema Center turns 50 this year, and it is looking for the community’s help to secure its future for the next fifty years.

The organization recently surpassed the $50,000 mark in its campaign to raise $100,000 by the end of 2026.

The achievement comes nearly three years after a derecho that blew out its marquee - damage that can still be seen today.

“We are a small, scrappy theatre, and we do a lot with what we have, and we’re only open Thursdays through Sundays,” Development Director Molly Conner said. “So the more funds we raise, the more we can expand our programming and offer to the community.

The organization says money will be used to invest in ‘critical facility upgrades’ as well as to modernize its facilities and expand its programming.
